In een wervelend concert brengt kwartet Rusalki een selectie uit de onuitputtelijke bron van de Romani muziek. Opzwepende nummers worden afgewisseld met hartverscheurende tragiek. Rusalki volgt het Romani spoor met liederen uit Hongarije, Tsjechië, Servië, Griekenland, Roemenië en vele andere plekken waar de zigeuners hun tenten ooit opzetten. De meerstemmige zang wordt ditmaal begeleid door de prachtige vioolklanken van Hans Luijcx.
Om in de sfeer te komen, kan je alvast dit filmpje bekijken.
Voorafgaand aan het concert zal er een workshop van ca 1 uur plaatsvinden waarin deelnemers een meerstemmig Romani lied zullen leren. Het geleerd lied gaan we tijdens het concert aan het publiek presenteren.

Occitaanse liederen
Occitanië verwijst naar een historische en culturele regio in Zuid-Europa. Het omvat de gebieden Aquitanië, Languedoc en de Provence in het huidige Frankrijk en strekt zich uit over de grenzen naar delen van Spanje en Italië. Occitaanse liederen zijn diep verankerd in de middeleeuwse troubadourtradities. De twaalfde-eeuwse Occitaanse troubadours – bekwame dichters en muzikanten – zongen over liefde, ridderlijkheid en natuur. Ze creëerde een tijdloze erfenis die de kruistochten en de inquisitie heeft doorstaan. Moderne Occitaanse zangers, o.a. van de ensembles La mal coiffe, Lo Còr de la Plana, Barrut, Du Bartas en Vox Bigerri met een diepe eerbied voor hun erfgoed, behouden de authenticiteit van de oude melodieën maar experimenteren ook met innovatieve arrangementen en genres en blazen de Occitaanse muziek nieuw leven in.
Ontdek de fraaie melodieën en harmonieën, de sterke ritmes en poëtische teksten van Occitaanse liederen. Maak kennis met de rijke traditie van een van de oudste culturele gebieden in Europa die generaties verbindt door de blijvende magie van melodie en vers.
